Doch im Laufe der Zeit veränderten sich die Rahmenbedingungen zunehmend. Neue gesetzliche Regelungen, stark gestiegene Visa- und Aufenthaltskosten sowie Unsicherheiten für langfristige Lebens- und Arbeitsmodelle machten uns bewusst, dass wir Verantwortung übernehmen müssen – nicht nur für eine Vision, sondern für die Menschen, die eines Tages auf diesen Ort angewiesen sein werden.

La decisione
La decisione di far nascere in futuro LumaTruePath in Sicilia, e non in Thailandia, è stata una delle più difficili del nostro percorso.
Per noi la Thailandia non è mai stata soltanto un possibile luogo in cui realizzare il progetto. È stata una terra ricca di ispirazione, umanità, spiritualità e speranza. Molti dei valori che caratterizzano LumaTruePath – consapevolezza, serenità, dignità e compassione – hanno trovato lì le loro radici.
Con il passare del tempo, però, le condizioni sono cambiate profondamente. Nuove normative, il forte aumento dei costi per i visti e per il soggiorno, insieme alle incertezze riguardo a modelli di vita e di lavoro a lungo termine, ci hanno fatto comprendere che dovevamo assumerci una responsabilità più grande: non solo verso una visione, ma soprattutto verso le persone che un giorno potrebbero affidarsi a questo luogo.
Questa consapevolezza ci ha fatto soffrire.
Perché una parte del nostro cuore resterà sempre legata alla Thailandia.

The decision
to build LumaTruePath in Sicily instead of Thailand was one of the hardest decisions on our journey.
Thailand was never just a possible location for us.
It was a place filled with inspiration, humanity, spirituality and hope. Many of the values that shape LumaTruePath — mindfulness, calmness, dignity and compassion — found their roots there.
But over time, the circumstances began to change.
New legal regulations, significantly rising visa and residency costs, as well as uncertainties surrounding long-term living and working models made us realize that we had to think responsibly — not only for a vision, but for the people who may one day depend on this place.
That realization was painful.
Because a part of our hearts will always remain connected to Thailand.
And yet, we understood something deeply important:
A place like LumaTruePath cannot grow on warmth and hope alone.
It also needs stability, security and a reliable future.
Sicily now gives us the opportunity to build exactly that.
With its quiet landscapes, nature, humanity and closeness to Europe, Sicily offers the chance to create a place that can endure — for autistic people, their families and everyone searching for understanding, safety and peace.
